Why Midwest Agentic exists.
A small, senior systems firm for organizations whose most important work runs on expertise and judgment.
The most valuable thing in many organizations is also the most fragile: the judgment, methodology, and intent that actually run the work. It lives in a few people's heads, in habits and spreadsheets and undocumented decisions. It does not scale, it does not transfer, and it quietly erodes over time.
Midwest Agentic exists to make that capability durable — to turn hard-won expertise into intelligent systems an organization can trust, examine, and keep. We build systems for organizations whose most important work depends on expertise, judgment, and intent. We are the firm you bring in when the system matters and being wrong is expensive.
PedigreeThree decades of consequential systems.
The firm's methods were shaped in environments where traceability, governance, and getting the structure right were never optional. The discipline behind Midwest Agentic comes from years of work on complex systems where mistakes carried real consequences.
PracticeWe run on what we sell.
The firm operates on the same kind of governed intelligent system we build for others — it runs our own operation day to day, with AI carrying the volume and people holding the judgment. We don't recommend a discipline we aren't willing to operate ourselves.
A track record of performance
Marc led design and architecture for DEFCON AI, and we built our software teams around him. He listens closely, translates customer intent into clear requirements, and brings solutions to life. I'm confident you'll value both the collaboration and the outcomes.
I've worked closely with Marc for nearly four years, and his ability to transform complex ideas into practical, scalable solutions is exceptional. He pairs deep technical and architectural insight with a genuine commitment to quality and to helping others succeed. His leadership, thoughtfulness, and reliability make him someone I trust completely and would gladly work with again.
Among all the technical professionals I've worked with, none have shown as strong a grasp of the fundamental principles of technical architecture as Marc Gilbert. His ability to translate rough ideas into simple, concrete technical direction brings order to what is usually a chaotic process. I can't recommend him highly enough.
How we think.
Your purpose, not a toolset.
We start from what you are trying to achieve and build the system to serve it; the tools are implementation, never the point.
Structure determines behavior.
A system's outcomes come from how it is built, not the tools inside it.
Alignment is designed, not assumed.
Architecture, governance, and evaluation together keep a system aligned with intent — across people and across time.
The system should outlast us.
We build capability you own and operate, never a dependency.
Midwest Agentic was founded by Marc Gilbert, a systems architect with more than three decades of experience across defense, capital markets, healthcare, enterprise platforms, and operational systems.
Have a consequential system to build?
We take on problems with real expertise, judgment, decisions, or operational complexity at their core.
