Capital Markets · Expert + Decision System

A trading methodology, turned into a governed decision system.

Context

The firm's edge was the judgment of a single expert — a way of reading the market refined over years, but undocumented and trapped in one person's head. The business couldn't teach it, audit it, or build on it. What it needed was more than a library of rules: a running system that reads live market conditions, applies the expert's judgment to them, and traces and tunes every decision against live and historical data — so the firm could run that judgment, examine it, and improve it on evidence.

Build
  • A versioned domain vocabulary naming every concept the methodology depends on
  • Live market-data ingestion, feeding the engine real conditions as they unfold
  • An agentic decision engine that applies the expert's encoded judgment to those conditions and produces the resulting decisions — consistently, at a scale and speed no individual could
  • An evaluation harness scoring every decision against outcomes across live and historical data, continuously
  • An operator cockpit where a person runs, traces, and tunes the system — and decides which of its decisions to act on, across live and historical scenarios
Why it held
ArchitectureA clean separation between the versioned vocabulary, the decision logic, and the surfaces — so each can change without breaking the others.
GovernanceEvery decision is traceable to the exact inputs and methodology version that produced it. Nothing is a black box.
EvaluationEvery decision is measured continuously against outcomes — across both live results and historical scenarios — so the methodology is tuned on evidence and drift is caught early, not discovered in production.
Outcome

The firm's edge is no longer trapped in one person. It is now explicit, versioned, and improvable — durable, examinable, and transferable beyond the individual. The firm can see why any decision was made, test a change against live and historical scenarios before trusting it, and know the system still reflects intent.
